Have you voted against GMO for alfalfa?

Here's an email Dr. Heidi got from the Director of a new movie, FRESH. Trailer here.

If you know the dangers to your and your children's health - and to the earth - of GMO foods, please vote NO here so the USDA hears your voice. VOTE BEFORE March 3 (this WED.)
"Hi Dr. Heidi:

"Genetic food giant Monsanto is at it again. Its next target: genetically-engineered (GE) alfalfa. One of the biggest impacts of allowing the use of GE alfalfa is contamination of other crops, including organic alfalfa, which is used by most organic dairies.

"The USDA is well on its way to approving Monsanto's GE alfalfa. In its own report, the USDA acknowledges the problem with contamination but says that consumers may not care enough about it for the USDA to block Monsanto's modified alfalfa seeds. [1] This is absurd since one of the main reasons people buy organic food is to avoid genetically engineered crops.

"The USDA is only accepting public comments for the next two weeks. We need you to write to the USDA right now and tell them they must not approve Monsanto's mutant alfalfa.[2]

"FRESH will deliver your comments before the deadline.

They Plan Your Hunger

If you think you're eating more and more, you might be right. We've just seen disturbing new evidence that your hunger is planned.

Yep. Planned by crafty big food men. The motivation is simple: the more you eat, the more you buy. And the more they sell, the cheaper they can make it and keep you believing you're getting good 'food' cheap.
Here's their manufacturing secret: they don't actually sell real food anymore. The supermarket shelves are stacked with empty food: Nutritionless packaged stuff laced with artificial crud. And, always wrapped in shiny, crinkly packages to attract you and the kids.
We've just discovered a new scheme: big food companies have created think tanks filled with scientists working 24/7 to make their 'food' more 'craveable'. By adding bad salts, bad fats, and sugar. See here.
Deceiving a trusting public with empty food is evil. But it is a real evil only insofar as we support it. If you agree supplying the public with empty and sometimes harmful 'food' is wrong, we must withdraw our support. We must STOP buying it. For good. If enough people do this, empty food will collapse from lack of support.
What should you eat instead, and how can you tell you're not eating empty food? Here's an eating motto I have lived by for over 20 years:
Eat Different. Eat ER.
Join me. My dear friend and nutrition professor Dr. Heidi will show you how to get nutrient dense old-world foods that satisfy. And that do not have built in triggers for more hunger for more empty food.

Dr. Heidi will offer an intro call so you can see how you can replace empty food with good stuff. I'll announce it when I have the dates. Meanwhile...

Check out Dr. Heidi's 5-week ER Fat Burn program here. Order link here.

P.S. New round starts Feb 13. Live program includes private consultations from Dr. Heidi. The multi-media option is self-directed, with PDFs, audios and of course the famous ER food list.

Ten Fattest Countries

When habits are hazards...

1) American Samoa, 93.5 percent (of population that's overweight)
2) Kiribati, 81.5 percent
3) USA, 66.7 percent
4) Germany, 66.5 percent
5) Egypt, 66 percent
6) Bosnia-Herzegovina, 62.9 percent
7) New Zealand, 62.7 percent
8) Israel, 61.9 percent
9) Croatia, 61.4 percent
10) United Kingdom, 61 percent (From Global Post.)
100% grass-fed beef or Spam?

What's with the fattening of America? Aren't we a mentally advanced country with lots of entrepreneurs, creativity and ingenuity? We used to be, anyway. But now, people are fat and tired and mad most of the time.
The culprit? What we eat. Real foods have been almost 100% replaced by highly processed and refined food-like substances over the last 20 years. Think 100% grass-fed beef versus Spam. Or pastured chicken versus Chicken McNuggets (56% corn plus butane.)
Here's why that's making you fat:
People are hungry all the time after eating nutritionless sweets, pastas, cereals, fake meats and most dressings and dips. Worse still, concoctions that masquerade for what they are - e.g. powdered eggs or fake guacamole - contain many anti-nutrients, so the body has to work to expel them before it can use what's left. And you know what's left, right? Yep - usually just the calories.
Our eating habits are hazards. To us and to our children, who are being born with our weaknesses.
What will become of the America that used to be brimming with energized, creative people who create value out of thin air? Already many of us are too fat and too tired to do anything except surf the net, watch TV or hang out at Starbucks, taking in more sugar and sweets to relieve the pain of it all.
We're witnessing a lost generation - people hooked on sugar (like high fructose corn syrup) and cheap. For them it may be too late. So here's the challenge for America's future:
How do we make UNCOOL - at least for the children and teenagers - the eating of all highly processed and sugary foods?
If we fail at that, we risk the USA itself becoming a developing country. How can fat, tired and mad people be number one in the world?

"Children in US Hungry. Epidemic." Misdiagnosis?

Huffington Post leads today with:

'SILENT EPIDEMIC'
Number Of US Children Going Hungry Soars

She links to "Missing more than a meal" in the Washington Post, where there are links to many more stories of growing numbers of children and teens feeling hungry much of the time. See also here.

All of these appear to focus on scarcity of food. Or not enough access to food.

But this is probably not the real problem.

(See the lady leaving the food center with a bag full of boxed stuff - see anything fresh looking? Here - have a big bag of cookies on your way out.)

That's why people feel so hungry. And are so overweight. The culprit is eating mostly nutritionless food. The body needs nutrition, not food-like substances it just piles on because it can't do anything else with it. Hunger is the only way the body has to call out: I need nutrients!

Check out the other image: How much nutrition is in the giant cola bottles on the table beside the mother and child?
Dr. Heidi, my nutrition professor friend, made my day worse. Here's what she said - from my notes...
Most of America's children and teens eat cereals and packaged snacks every day. But there is little nutrition in either the cereals or snacks. They're mostly sugar. That's why, no matter how much a person eats of that stuff (and pizza), they feel hungry shortly after. No nutrition. Read the labels - mostly sugar.
Then, off they go to McDonald's to get some cheap protein - say Chicken McNuggets. Little do they realize that those are not protein - but 56% corn (a carb) - and low grade industrial corn at that. With almost no nutritive value.
So then a mom buys juices, that should be good, right? Not. All the vitamins and enzymes have been boiled out of conventional juices in bottles, cartons or cans. The first ingredient (what it's got most of, in it) in almost all of them is either sugar or artificial sweeteners. The latter are known to be potentially poisonous to us.
Then there's the microwave secret.

To save time, Moms and kids throw whatever into the microwave. Fast. But. Anything microwaved has no nutrition left. The microwave distorts the food molecules.

It's not for nothing the makers of these things don't call them 'Radar Range' anymore. Bad PR. Who would use them if they knew the radiation destroys the food molecules they are about to eat? More nutritionless food down the hatch.
How about eat fruits and veggies? That beats anything in boxes, cans or crinkly bags or wrappers. Yes, right. BUT if they're the conventional stuff, the fruits and veggies have little nutrition because of how they're grown. Instead, you get a dose of pesticides.
Bottom line. It is not the lack of food that is causing the hunger and obesity in children and teenagers (and many adults). It's the lack of nutrition in the food we eat.

Which big food provides. Which so many Americans demand and consume like crazy.

Nutritionless is food cheaper to make, has longer shelf life and it's fast for everybody. And we buy more and more of it because we're hungry all the time. And away we go to become a nation of FATAFATs.

Child hunger and obesity: Not a crisis of lack of food. Our crisis is a crisis of choice.
"To see what is right, and not do it, is want of courage, or of principle." Confucius
Maybe they're right - It's in our nature to destroy ourselves for short term desires and pleasures.

‘Stop taking painkillers if you want to breed vultures’

For thousands of years in parts of India, they've used a funeral system that relies on the sun and carrion birds to dispose of dead bodies. See here.

These ferocious birds, a kind of vulture living there for thousands of years, have almost all been poisoned of late - by the pain killer drugs found in the bodies of the dead.
"The nation-wide decline of vultures has been linked to diclofenac - a drug used in a variety of medicines including painkillers - that causes kidney failure in birds."
If the painkiller drugs in our bodies cause fatal liver failure in these big birds - animals that have been recycling dead bodies for centuries - think of what those pain killers are likely doing to YOUR body.

Life forces were created to dispose of and transform living things now dead (including our dead bodies). You know, to make room, recycle, and clean up the place for the new.
But now those clean-up crews are being fatally poisoned by our own (dead) bodies. How can the living things of earth create new, healthy life?
Are today's pain killer drugs really worth all that?
